RECEPTION AT THE GYM: Worcester (Western Cape)

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE
To provide and maintain superb front of house experience to everyone who enters & leaves our GYM:

  1. Greet members, prospective members and guests verbally, with a smile and eye contact.|
  2. Create and maintain a hospitable and professional reception area that is always clean, hygienic and tidy.
  3. Provide exceptional customer service, attending to queries, complaints and compliments via phone, email and in person.
  4. Facilitate member sign-up and inductions, keep member accounts updated and payment queries / follow-ups.
  5. Promote and participate in gym marketing activities and initiatives.
  6. Control and manage electronic access and exit.
  7. Handle and promote sales, stock control and payments of gym clothing, accessories and supplements at the kiosk.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  1. High energy and genuine interest in the health and wellbeing industry.
  2. Punctuality and reliable transport to ensure attendance of shifts:
    – Weekday morning shifts start 04:30am and afternoon shifts end at 21:00
    – Sat & public holiday shifts are 05:30–15:00
    – We endeavour to alternate shift rosters to allow every 2nd weekend off.
  3. Diplomacy in handling irate (at times) people.
  4. Minimum: Matric and basic computer skills.
  5. Ability to learn and accurately use gym management system, Itensity.
  6. Clear and confident use of English and Afrikaans or isiXhosa.
  7. Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive and confidential information.
  8. Self-assurance combined with humility.
  9. Ability and willingness to learn labour law and apply best practice.
  10. No criminal record.
